Check operation of thermostat and adjust- Clean and check operation of limit controls
- Lubricate blower motor bearings
- Check blower operation
- Check fan belt tension and alignment
- Check electrical controls wiring
- Check disconnect or pullout for thermal fatigue
- Check burners and set for proper combustion and ignition
- Check overall operation of heating unit
- Examine furnace flue and vent connectors
- Clean pilot and check safety cut-off
- Check heat exchanger for cracks (units over 10 years)
- Check and lubricate combustion blower motor
- Check gas piping system
- Check flexible connectors for wear and deterioration
- Check condensation pan, drain and exposed condensate piping
- Check and record motor amperages
- Lubricate outdoor motor bearings
- Check fan blade for fatigue and balance
- Check indoor coils and outdoor coils
- Check air filter and recommend replacement or cleaning
- Check refrigerant level and record pressures
- Check copper tubing at vibration leak points
- Replace plastic Schrader caps with premium metal caps and seals
- Check contractor points for excessive pitting and/or burning
- Check overall operation of cooling unit, and record temperatures
- Check operation of reversing valve
- Check the defrost control on heat pumps
- Check unit for excessive vibration
- Secure all unit panels
